Alpha-beta radiometer UMF-2000 (Ukraine)
Purpose and field of use:
simultaneous measurements of a total activity of low-active nuclides with the help of alpha-beta radiometer UMF-2000 in test samples of the environment (soil, water), food products, filters and sorbents as well as test samples after selective radiochemical extraction.
Characteristics and metrological performance:
simultaneous measurement of alpha and beta activity of a sample;
active protection from a background radiation by gas-discharge counter and circuit of anticoincidences;
passive lead protection from a background radiation (30 mm of Pb);
power system interferences protection;
alpha-spectrometry using SpectraDec software for activity measurements of U, Th, Po, Pu, Am isotopes (after radiochemical preparation of a sample);
range of detected activities: alpha-radiating nuclides 0.01-1000 Bq; beta-radiating nuclides 0.1-3000 Bq;
range of energies of detected radiation: alpha – 3500-8000 keV; beta – 50-3500 MeV;
limit of acceptable basic relative error: ±15%;
intrinsic radiation, pulses/s, not more than: in channel of alpha-radiation registration – 0.001; in channel of beta-radiation registration – 0.025.
